Cookie Policy

Last updated: 19 June 2026

Applies to the BillBasket POS App and the billbasket.app website

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy ("Policy") explains how BillBasket Solutions LLP ("BillBasket", "Company", "we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the billbasket.app website, the BillBasket POS web dashboard, customer portal, and other online interfaces we operate (collectively, the "Websites") in connection with the BillBasket POS App.

This Policy describes what cookies are, the categories we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your choices. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and other applicable BillBasket policies.

By using our Websites and, where required, by accepting cookies through our consent banner, you agree to the use of cookies as described here. Where applicable law requires prior consent for non-essential cookies, those cookies are placed only after you provide consent.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They let the website recognise your device, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and improve your experience.

We may also use related technologies that perform similar functions:

  • Local storage and session storage — data stored in your browser to support functionality;
  • Web beacons and pixels — small graphics used to understand usage and measure performance;
  • Session identifiers and tokens — used to keep you securely signed in;
  • Software development kits (SDKs) — used within web components for analytics or functionality.

3. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to the browser-based interfaces we operate, including:

  • The BillBasket product website (https://www.billbasket.app);
  • The BillBasket company website (https://www.billbasket.in);
  • The POS web dashboard, customer portal, and account-management interfaces;
  • Web-based billing, invoicing, payment, and reporting screens accessed through a browser.

Note: The BillBasket POS desktop and mobile applications are installed software and do not use browser cookies the way websites do. Where the installed app uses local configuration files, device identifiers, or similar technologies, those are addressed in our Privacy Policy and product documentation rather than this Cookie Policy.

4. Why We Use Cookies

BillBasket uses cookies to operate our Websites reliably and securely, remember your choices, understand usage, and improve the POS App. Specifically, cookies help us to:

  • Keep you signed in and maintain the security of your session;
  • Remember your language, region, outlet, and display preferences;
  • Protect against fraud, unauthorised access, and abuse;
  • Measure and improve the performance and stability of our Websites;
  • Understand which features are used so we can improve them;
  • Support in-browser billing and payment workflows where delivered through the web dashboard.

5. Categories of Cookies We Use

5.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

Essential for the Websites to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as signing in, setting privacy preferences, or completing a transaction. Without them, core services such as authentication, secure access, and payment processing may not work. These cookies do not require consent under most applicable laws because they are necessary to provide a service you have requested.

5.2 Functional and Preference Cookies

Allow the Websites to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, personalised features, such as preferred language, region, outlet, or interface settings.

5.3 Performance and Analytics Cookies

Help us understand how visitors interact with our Websites by collecting information such as pages visited, time spent, navigation paths, errors, and performance metrics. Used in aggregated or de-identified form to improve our Websites. We do not use analytics cookies to access your business records.

5.4 Security Cookies

Support the detection of fraudulent activity, help protect your data and account, and maintain the integrity and security of our Websites and the transactions conducted through them.

5.5 Marketing and Communication Cookies

Where used, these help us measure the effectiveness of our communications and understand interest in our products. BillBasket does not build advertising profiles from your business data. Marketing cookies are non-essential and are used only where you have provided consent, where consent is required by law.

6. First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

Cookies may be set by BillBasket directly ("first-party cookies") or by trusted third-party providers acting on our behalf ("third-party cookies"), such as:

  • Website and product analytics providers;
  • Payment gateways and payment service providers used to process online transactions;
  • Customer support or chat widgets;
  • Content delivery networks and infrastructure providers;
  • Authentication and identity-verification services.

These third parties process information under their own privacy and cookie policies. We encourage you to review them.

Cookies may be:

  • Session cookies, deleted automatically when you close your browser; or
  • Persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period or until you delete them, and allow the Websites to recognise you on return visits.

We retain cookie data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law.

Our use of cookies relies on one or more of the following, depending on category and applicable law:

  • The necessity of certain cookies to deliver a service you requested (strictly necessary cookies);
  • Our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving our Websites, where permitted;
  • Your consent, for non-essential cookies such as analytics and marketing, where consent is required.

Where prior, informed, freely given consent is required for non-essential cookies, we obtain it through a consent banner before placing those cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Consent banner. Where presented, you may accept, decline, or customise non-essential cookies, and revisit your choices through the cookie settings link on our Websites.

Browser settings. Most browsers let you view, manage, delete, and block cookies via their settings menu. Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of our Websites from functioning, including sign-in and payment features.

Opting out of analytics. Where third-party analytics providers offer opt-out tools or browser add-ons, you may use them to limit analytics collection.

10. Do Not Track

Because there is no universally adopted standard for "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals, our Websites may not respond to them consistently. You can still manage cookies using the methods above.

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use, applicable law, or our practices. The current version will be published on our Websites, and the "Last Updated" date will indicate the latest revision. Where required, we will obtain renewed consent for material changes affecting non-essential cookies.

12. Relationship With the Privacy Policy

This Cookie Policy supplements, and should be read with, the BillBasket Privacy Policy. In the event of any inconsistency specifically concerning cookies, this Cookie Policy prevails for cookies and similar technologies.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Subject to applicable law, the competent courts located in Pune, Maharashtra, India shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory rights or remedies available to users in their own jurisdiction, including Nepal and Bangladesh.

India. Personal information collected through cookies is handled consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder.

Nepal. Our use of cookies is handled consistent with the Individual Privacy Act, 2018 (2075) and the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (2063). Non-essential cookies may be declined.

Bangladesh. Our use of cookies is handled consistent with the Information and Communication Technology Act, 2006, the Cyber Security Act, 2023, and applicable consumer and electronic-transaction laws.
